National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU)
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is a central University established in the year 2008 and situated in Gandhinagar at Gujrat. It was earlier known as Gujrat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU). The university has been approved by UGC and accredited with grade A by NAAC. National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is a prestigious institution dedicated to advancement of forensic sciences education, research and practice.
The Gujarati government established the Gujarat Forensic Science University in 2008. Act 17 was passed on September 30, 2008, by the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, creating it. In October 2020, it was renamed the National Forensic Sciences University. In April 2023, it became a worldwide university when S. Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, dedicated and launched the university's first campus outside of India in Uganda, which also became Africa's first Forensic Science University.
School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies:
The National Forensic Sciences University (An Institution of National Importance) established the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies in 2020 with the goal of providing professional education with a special focus on forensic application in all related areas of law and policy framework. The School wants to be the top resource for forensic justice knowledge across all professions. It contributes to the general welfare of individuals by focusing on crime prevention, crime reduction, crime mapping, and the prompt and equitable administration of justice through forensic lenses. The ultimate goal of the school is to generate competent techno-legal specialists who can improve the effectiveness of the nation's justice administration system across the board in all spheres of government.
